A Gold Star family member is a parent, sibling, spouse or child who has lost a loved one as a result of a service-related injury or illness while serving in the US military.

Selected participants will receive a personal coach, complimentary registration for the Marine Corps Marathon race (26.2 miles), airfare and lodging, personalized wear blue gear, a tribute installation on the wear blue Mile, an intimate Gold Star dinner, and 20 weeks of the incredible support of the wear blue community. 

Training for and running in a 26.2 mile marathon requires dedication, discipline, determination and patience. We are seeking Gold Star participants who will grow from the experience, while maintaining a commitment to adequately training to run a marathon in honor of their fallen loved one. Please consider carefully whether you are willing to give completely of your time and effort if you are selected for our Gold Star Race Program.

The application period closes on  Saturday, April 20, 2024 at Midnight Eastern.

Chosen participants will be expected to travel to Washington, DC on Thursday, October 24, 2024 and depart beginning on Monday, October 28, 2024.
